Resident Advisor

Resident Advisor (RAs) are responsible for the health and safety of the students in their charge at all times other than when the students are in class. They are to inform the students of S.E.P. rules and guidelines and to work to ensure that these rules are observed. RAs are also responsible for planning and conducting student activities.

RAs' working hours are primarily the hours students are not in class; other commitments include a morning meeting time, and additional time for planning and preparation of activities. RAs work weekends. Employment in S.E.P. should be considered a full time commitment.

Terms of Employment:

  • Starting salary is $1,900 for four sessions
  • Employees pay their travel to and from N.A.U.
  • Room and board are provided

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a college RA or camp counselor
  • Strong academic record
  • Experience working with this age group
  • Mature, responsible, energetic
  • Strong potential for leadership
  • Ability to create and organize special events and daily recreational programs
  • Ability to enforce rules by winning students' respect
  • Ability to work effectively in committees
